Our Vision
Adaptive Impact was founded by Dana Hunt and Iva Velkovska on the belief that a diagnosis or injury should never define what is possible. After Dana was diagnosed with ALS, returning to the sky through adaptive paragliding provided something she had been missing: freedom from her diagnosis. For those precious moments in the air, there was no ALS—just adventure, possibility, and the feeling of being truly alive. Together with founding member Bobby Brown, they set out to create those same experiences for others facing mobility challenges.

Dana Hunt
Co-Founder | Adaptive Pilot | ALS Adovocate
Following her ALS diagnosis, Dana made a decision that continues to shape her life today: she spends her time focused on living, not waiting. Rather than allowing a terminal diagnosis to define her future, she embraced every opportunity to chase adventure, create meaningful experiences, and inspire others to do the same.
Through her Instagram account, Dana shares her journey of living boldly with ALS while raising awareness about the realities of the disease. Her mission is simple: prove that a diagnosis does not have to mean the end of living. Whether she’s paragliding over the California coastline, skydiving, traveling the world, or helping someone with mobility challenges take flight for the first time, Dana is committed to making every moment count.
